In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, One God, Amen

Lesson No. (11)

References:
Number 21.

Notes for Servants
-The Lord punished His people for their complains and murmuring. The Lord sent fiery serpents
among them and the serpents bit the people so that many people of Israel died. This is to remind
people of their sins. They came to Moses and confessed their sins.
-Many people return to Christ through sickness, afflictions and temptations. We should thank the
Lord for His love for us.
-The bronze serpent is a symbol of Christ; who died for our sake, "For He made Him who knew
no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians
5:21).

Story Time
From Mount Hor, they set out to the way of the Red Sea, around the land of Edom. However,
the people became impatient on the way. The people spoke against God and against Moses. "Why have
you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we do not
like this worthless food. Then, the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so
that many people of Israel died. The people came to Moses and said, "We have sinned, for we have
spoken against the Lord and against you. Pray to the Lord that He take away the serpents from us." So
Moses prayed for the people.
1. Why did the Lord punish the people?
2. What was the punishment?
3. What did the people do?
The Lord said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole and everyone who is bitten,
when he sees it, shall live." So, Moses made a bronze serpent, and set it on a pole, and if a serpent bit
anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live. The Bible says, "He who believes in me, though he
die yet shall he live."
1. What does the bronze serpent stand for?
2. What should the person bitten by the serpent do in order to recover?
3. Who can say the verse?
