04 - The Lord’s Prayer

Introduction:

We show God how much we love him when we talk to him. We should always tell him thank you and ask him for things we need. What do we do with our friends? We always love to talk with them and spend time together. We also need to spend time with Jesus. 

 

Lesson Outline:

When Jesus’ friends asked him to teach them to pray, he told them to say theswsßwLord’s Prayer. In the Lord’s Prayer, there is everything we need to say to God. We tell him he is our father, he is very special to us and he takes care of everything on earth and in heaven. We ask him to give us all our needs and protect us from sins and to forgive us and help us forgive others too. We also ask him to help us not to listen to people that sometimes want us to do bad things that might upset Jesus. We ask him to save us from any bad thing. We know that Jesus loves us and we love him too.

Hang the prayer in your room and pray it everyday before you sleep. You can use the pictures to help you remember the words.  

Activity:

Say a sentence of the prayer and let the children find the picture or show them the picture and make them try to say the words.
