Story Time
WhenKing Solomon finished building the Temple,he made a great feast that the world had not seen anything like it. He brought the Ark of the Lord and put it together with all the vessels used in the service in its new place. Those vessels were in the Tent of Meetings. Then Solomon Consecrated the House of God and God was pleased with Solomon for all what he did. The Glory of God came on the Temple in the form of a cloud all the days of the feast. That cloud used to appear over the Tent of Meetings in the wilderness, and it was a proof that the Lord filled the Temple, people felt that the Lord still desired to dwell among his people. The reign of Solomon was a peaceful time.
+ What did Solomon do after he had finished the Temple?
+ What does the word "dedicate" mean?
+ How did the Lord show that He was pleased with Solomon?
When the Ark of the Lord was set in its place in the Temple, Solomon stood before all the people and blessed them in the Name of the Lord and he prayed and said... (The Servant reads part of Solomon's prayer). Sacrifices then were offered on the alter of the Temple. They offered oxen and sheep. The people were in complete joy and happiness for fourteen days. Then Solomon asked the people to leave, each to go to his house. They all went home joyful for that great blessing from God, which God promised David. God appeared to Solomon for the second time and told him that He heard his prayer and if he will follow His commandments by all his heart and He will support him all his life.
