Story Time
Jesus had some friends who were fishermen and they lived by the sea of Galilee where they kept
their fishing boats. One day, the sun was rising and Jesus was with his friends in one of their boats and the
people were standing at the shore waiting for Him. When they saw Jesus, they ran quickly toward Him
and suddenly a man named Jairus (known by the people because of his high position) came through the
crowd and tried very hard to reach Jesus. When he came to Jesus he bowed down before him and said
ina sad voice: "Lord my daughter is very sick and she is about to die. Please, if you don't mind, come and
touch her (to put his hand on her to heal her). Jesus went with him immediately.
On their way, a man came in a hurry and said to Jairus, "Do not bother the Master, your daughter
died." In a very sad and sorrow glance, Jesus looked at him and he tried to encourage him by saying, "Do
not be afraid, just believe." Jesus went with Jairus to his home, there were a lot of people over there in very
bad condition. They were crying because of the death.
When Jesus entered he looked at the gathering and asked them, "why did you cause all this
commotion? and why all this crying? The girl did not die,she is only asleep." When the people heard what
Jesus said, they started laughing and joking. Jesus entered the room with her parents and three of his
disciples, he went in, and took her by the hand, and told her to arise. She woke up as she was asleep and
started to breath and move. Jesus told them to give her something to eat. People outside heard the news
they were so embarrassed because they laughed at Jesus and they did not believe him, they asked him to
forgive them. And the news went abroad into all that land.
