Notes for Servants
-  "Like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he
opened not his mouth.

our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities: upon him was the chastisement that made us
whole, and with his stripes we are healed."

Objectives
General: The passions of Christ cleanse us.
Specific:
The children will be able to ...
A. tell what we remember on Easter Sunday.
B. explain what happened to Jesus after he died.
C. express their joy that Jesus is alive.

Bible Verse

"Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee,
To day shalt thou be with me in paradise."
(Luke 23:43)

Teaching Aids
Some aidssuchas the pictures which represent the Lord Jesus witha crown ofthorns onhis head,
or icon of the Lord crucified between two robbers should be used.

Instruction
(1) Review last week's lesson.
(2) Who remembers the verse?
(3) Remind the children about the church occasions for the coming week.
(4) This is one of the most interesting, effective and valuable lessons. The pupils should fully
understand that all what Jesus did was for them because of sin which the Lord hates.
(5) Do not concentrate on the parables or the conversations that took place during the days of

passion, but contemplate with you pupils the passions that the Lord endured for our salvation.
(6) he Servant gives his/her students an idea about the Holy week so that they may participate in
the church prayers.
(7) Teacher should prepare the appropriate questions to emphasize the objectives during the
lesson.
Lesson
The pupils read Luke 24.
1) The Lord Jesus entered JerusalemonSunday to be kept there till the day of slaughter as the case
was with the Pasch Sacrifice which stood for him.
2) On Monday, he was in the temple teaching, discussing, answering questions - The priests asked
about his authority - the story of the fig tree.
3) On Tuesday, he wasinthe temple - The parables and the signs of the end of the world. (Matthew
21:22-25 - Mark 12,13
4) Wednesday: A) The plot (the priests) (Matthew 26:Markl4)

B) Agreement with Judas Iscariot

5) The Jewish Passover (on Thursday) - Christ eats the Passover with his disciples - His prayer for
his passions At night he prayed with his disciples in Gethsemane while Judas was plotting against
Christ An angel came to strengthen him saying: "Power be to you." The Jews arrested Christ and
the disciples ran away.
6) The Judgement Caiaphas, Annas, Pilate and Herod and how it happened. The procedures of
crucifixion. The story of the two thieves and Christ's answering one of them.

Discussion
1 - Follow up the story by talking about it with the children.
2 - Continue the discussion while they do the activity.
