from God and he worshipped Baal. One day God appeared to Elijah and said to him, "Go to Ahab and
tell him that I know that he has turned against me and tell him to repent from his wicked ways. As a sign
ofmy anger the rain will not fall for many days." Elijah warned Ahab with the long period ofthe drought.
God ordered Elijah to go to a river by Chrith Brook. A raven took care of him and he drank from the
river's water. God sent him to a place in Zion called Zarephath to a house of a very poor widow who lived
with her son.
WhenElijahreached the widow's home, she was gathering some wood to set a fire to prepare her
last cake, because she did not have enough except a full hand of flour and a little bit ofoil and she will eat
this cake withherson, waiting for death. Elijah asked her to prepare something for himto eat. The widow
told him her story. Then Elijah to go and prepare a cake for himfirst and afterthatshe cando for her and
her son. Elijah promised her that the flour and the oil will not decrease till the day that God sends rain on
the earth. The widow obeyed with faith. God of Elijah kept his promised.
