Story Time
About two thousands years ago, the Roman Emperor Augustine wanted to count all his people,
so he ordered every person to register in his home town. All people obeyed his order, and one of them
was a man named Joseph and his fiancee Mary who came from Nazareth All the way to Bethlehem.
When Joseph and Mary arrived in Bethlehem, they were very tired and could not find a place in
the in the town was full of outsiders from everywhere. Yet, the inn's owner looked at the Mary's face and
noticed how tired she was. He wanted to help them so he led them to the stables - a lowly place wormed
by the breathing of cows and the smell ofstraw. Here the little baby Jesus was born. His mother wrapped
him in swaddled clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.
There were shepherds in the same country, abiding inthe field, keeping watch over their flock by
night. In the middle of the night, something strange happened. They heard beautiful voices and they heard
the song : "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill towards men." And the angel of the
lord came upon them and told them, "for unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is
Christ the Lord." The shepherds went to Bethlehem and found Mary, Joseph and the baby laying in a
manger. When they had seen the Baby they told other people and then went back to their flocks.
