Story Time
One day, about 3 p.m., Peter and John went to the alter(temple), and on their wayat the gate they
met a very poor man asking for help. This man was born crippled. When he saw the two disciples he
extended his hand towards them asking and hoping getting something. Peter and John did not have any
moneyto give to this man. The only thing they have the power of healing (that God gave it to them). Peter
looked at the man and said to him: I have nothing to give to you but in the name of Jesus Christ, The
Nazarus....Isaid to you:Stand and walk, and he held the hand ofthe crippled manand helped himto stand.
At once (on the spot) the legs of this man became stronger and this was the first time-since he was born,
he could walk. The manwas veryhappyand expressed his happiness byjumping. He did not want to leave
Peter and John but he stick with them and entered the temple with them, he wasshouting ina very happy
way, worshipping God because of what he did with him.
Nowallthe people knew the miracle ofhealingand everyone saw the man(the healed man) asking
him how could he have been healed? A great multitude ofpeople gather around Peter, John and the man,
then Peter started preaching to let thembecome Christians. While theywere talkingwiththe people, some
people came and caught themand put themincustody(prison) or jail till next day. Theythought that ifthey
let them stay in prison for only one day, this will make them stop preaching. Next day in the morning, the
elders and the bosses gathered to judge Peter and John. In a very courageous way, Peter and John
admitted that are Christians and theyhealed this manbythe name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarus whom they
did kill and crucify, but in the third day He rose from death, and without him no one can be saved. The
bosses were amazed and astonished.
Theystartedasking eachother, what were their jobs? Theywere fishermen, fromwhere these very
simple men got this courage? What shall we do with them? We have to stop them preaching because the
people love them, and what shall we do with crippled man that theyhealed him? He still stands with them
as a proof for the miracle. We have to threaten them. They ordered Peter and John not to talk any more
about Jesus Christ. Of course, the disciples did not agree and because theydid not want disobeying God's
commandments. They told them we have talked about what we have heard and what we have seen. God
be with us and we are not afraid from your threaten. Although the bosses were upset from Peter's and
John's words, theylet themgo because they were scared from the people. When Peter and John met the
rest of the disciples they told them about what had happened with them. They prayed together to God to
give them to preach and talk about God in front of every one.
