Story Time

Lord Christ has risen from the dead on the third day early on Sunday, at dawn.

The Marys went to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared and certain others with them.  However, they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.  They went in and did not find Jesus' body inside it.  While they were looking around two angels appeared to them.  The angels were very bright and shining like the sun.  The Marys were afraid and bowed down their faces to the earth. The angels told them saying:  Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.  He is not here; for He is risen.  Remember what He said to you when He was in Galilee saying that the Son of man must be crucified and on the third day rise again.

They remembered His words and returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.  It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.

When they said these things to the disciples, their words seemed strange to them and they did not believed them.  Then, Peter and John ran to the tomb; and he found the linen clothes laid by themselves and he was surprised.

Mary Magdalene was weeping at the tomb.  She looked backwards and saw a young man.  She thought that He was the gardener, but after the gardener talked to her she knew that He was the Lord.  Mary was happy.  She went to the disciples to inform them of the good news, that she had seen the Lord.
