In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, One God, Amen

Lesson No. ( 4 )

God Takes Care of Noah in the Ark

References

Genesis 6, 7

Notes for Servants

«        Whoever entered the Ark was saved.  Whosoever is Baptized will also be saved.  God invites everyone to salvation.  Whoever wants to be saved from drowning in the flood of this world, should respond to God's invitation and enter the Ark and close the door, then he/she will be saved.

«        God always fulfills His promises.  He promised not to bring a flood on the world again otherwise He would have destroyed the world several times because of the sins of all the people, especially ours, the servants'.  Many times we promise God many things and we fail to fulfill them.

Story Time

In the time that Noah lived, people had become evil.  They said bad words, did not pray, did not go to church and had become so evil that God was sorry He had created them.  Only Noah did what was right before God because Noah and his family were good.  He used to pray and teach people to love each other.  Noah had three sons:  Shem, Ham and Japheth.

God told Noah that, because the earth was filled with violence, He would make it rain so long that the people and all living things would be destroyed in this great flood.

"But I will make a promise, a covenant with you," God said.  "If you and your family wish to live, you must build an ark according to the directions which I will give you.  The ark will be a great boat have three levels and will have windows and a door.  And when you finish, I will tell you what you should do."

Noah and his sons did all that the Lord commanded and he told the people that God would destroy the world., But all the people made fun of him for building such a big boat.  Finally the ark was finished.  Noah and his family prayed and thanked God.

God told Noah, "When the flood comes you and your family shall enter the ark.  And you shall take with you two of every kind of living creature: birds and beasts and creeping things will enter the ark in pairs.  You shall also take every kind of food for yourselves and the creatures that will be with you."

Then, it began to rain.  The rain fell for forty days and forty nights and destroyed all the houses and trees and all the bad people drowned.  The waters rose higher and higher until even the mountains were covered.  Only Noah, his family and the creatures with them remained safe, always praying.

At last, God caused a wind to blow over the earth.  The rains stopped and the waters became quiet.  Finally, after a hundred and fifty days the ark came to rest on Mount Ararat.  One day, Noah opened the window and sent out a dove to look for land.  But she could not find a tree to perch on, so she flew back.  Seven days passed and again the dove was sent out.  This time she returned with a fresh green olive branch in her beak.  But Noah still waited another seven days to be sure that the waters had gone from the earth.  This time the dove went out and did not return.  Then Noah knew that there was dry land and that it would be safe to leave the ark.

God spoke to Noah, "Leave the ark, you and your family.  And send out every living creature that they may multiply and raise their young upon the earth."  So, Noah went out, he, his wife, his sons and his sons' wives.  And every bird, every beast and every creeping thing left the ark.

Then, God made a rainbow appear in the sky as a sign of the covenant between Him and the peoples of the earth, to show He will not flood the Earth again.
