Notes for Servants
- "At thy word, I will let down the net." ( Luke 5:5 )
Peter said, "Master, we have toiled all night and we have taken nothing." We also should add, - "Lord, we have not only worked all our lives and we have taken nothing, but also we may be
losing." - True love is the net that attracts others to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Objectives

Specific:
The children will be able to ...
A. Tell that Jesus has the power to do miracles to help us.
B. Learn that the disciples obeyed Jesus.
C. Know that Jesus gives us everything we need.
Bible Verse
“At thy word, I will let down the net.” (Luke 5:5)
Teaching Aids
1. Felt figures.
2. You may use a small net and some plastic fishes.
3. Act like fishermen: lay down the net and catch fish.
Introduction
(1) Review last week's lesson.
(2) Remind the children about the church occasions for the coming week.
(3) Give the children an idea about the sea: fish live in the sea, fishing (catching fish) with the use
of nets, and fishermen do their fishing at night when the fish can’t see the net.
(4)Servant shows children, by acting, how fishermen lay their net. Let them imagine the fish trying
to get out of the net.
(5) Explain to the children that God created fish for us to eat and the fishermen's is to catch fish
for us. When they get the money they buy food and clothes for their children, (no fish ... no food.).
(6)Teacher should prepare the appropriate questions to emphasize the objectives during the lesson.
Story Time
Simon Peter was a fisherman, at night he used to take his friends fishing and in the morning they
would sell the fish and buy food for their families.
One night they took two boats to go fishing because they were sure that they would catch lots of
fish. They tried all night long and they did not sleep one second. They went everywhere in the sea even in
far places, but they could not even catch one fish. They were so tired and so sad (no fish, no money to buy
food). In the morning they gave up and decided to go home.
When they reached the shore (land) they found Jesus teaching people, Simon and his friends felt
happy to see Jesus and they told him everything that happened to them. Jesus told them, "I will come with
you to help you."
They obeyed Jesus when He told them to drop their nets down again. Simon Peter waited a little
while before he pulled the net. He could not take it out because it was heavy. So, he called all his friends
in the other boats to help him, but the net was still too heavy even for all of them. Finally, they got it out.
It was a very nice surprise for them, the net was full of all kinds of fish, they filled Peter's boat and they still
had more fish, so they filled the second boat. They were all very happy and they thanked Jesus so much
for His help.
Discussion
