Story Time

Once upon a time in the 18th century, there was a great man named isIbrahimEl-Gohary. He was a treasurer in the government. Ibrahim loved God and used to always pray and go to church. He used to help the poor and the needy.

Ibrahim also was a forgiving man. He used to forgive people if they did bad things to him (curse, insult or hurt him.)Ibrahim had a brother called Guirguis. One day, Girguis was upset, because there was a man who used to swear at him, bother him a lot, throw stones at him. Girguis felt bad and went to his brother, Ibrahim.

Guirguis knew that his brother had the power and authority to put the bad man in jail. Ibrahim told him do not worry, he would stop his tongue so he would not swear at him again. Guirguis went home very happy.

Ibrahim investigated the matter, he found that his brother was right. Then, instead of putting the bad man in jail he sent him gifts, butter, honey, cheeses, and clothes for him and his family. The bad man felt sorry and ashamed for what he did. Then, he went to Guirguis and apologized to him, Guirguis could not believe the change that happened to the man.

He thought that his brother punished the bad man badly. So, he went to his brother to thank him and asked him about what happened. Ibrahim told him that he sent some gifts to the man as the Bible said. Girgis praised God who gave us this power.

If anybody said bad word to us or bothered us, we should tell him God will forgive you, like Ibrahim did.
