Notes for Servants
God cares about us more than we care about ourselves. It is He who passes under the sycamore tree to invite Zacchaeus to stay at his house.
Jesus our Lord would travel long distances to save someone and return them back to the flock. He walked a long way and sat by the well to speak to the Samaritan woman.

Story Time
Zacchaeus was a rich, short man. He longed to see Jesus. He entered his office and was thinking deeply. They asked him, "What is the matter, Uncle Zacchaeus? What are you thinking about today." He said to them, "I desire to see Jesus." They all laughed. "You want to see Jesus?! Is it possible?" He said, "Why do you laugh?" Their answer was, "Because you love yourself only. Jesus says: Love one another." Zacchaeus said, "Well, I am ready to change my way of living. I am sure that I will see Jesus." He said, "Seek, and you shall find."
"We heard that he will enter Jericho today". When Zacchaeus heard this, he ran quickly out of his office. He saw a crowd of people coming from a distance. "What is the matter?" He asked. He was told that Jesus was coming. He thought for a while and said, "Now, I am very short; how can I see Jesus among the crowds?" He ran ahead of the crowd and climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus, who would be going that way. It was difficult to climb. He made a great effort to climb that tree. He made the attempt many times and at last, he managed to climb the tree.
The crowds came near. There were many children, women, men, and young men that surrounded Jesus. They loved Jesus so they followed him everywhere. The crowds passed the sycamore tree. All the people stopped walking because Jesus looked up. Zacchaeus saw him and recognized him. He thought that Jesus was lifting up his eyes to pray, but Jesus was looking at him. How wonderful! Jesus said to him, "Hurry down, Zacchaeus"
‘How did he know my name? Well, He’s Jesus the Lord.’ Zacchaeus thought. Zacchaeus was very happy, he hurried down and bowed down to Jesus. Jesus said, "Because you love me and made the effort to come to see me, I will go to your house and bless you." Jesus said, "I will stay in your house today and I will have supper."
Zacchaeus welcomed him with great joy. He made a huge banquet (describe it). Zacchaeus served him. (Explain how Zacchaeus welcomed Jesus and his joy and what words you think he used to make Jesus and the guests happy).
