Story Time
Long ago, there were two good people, Joachim and his wife Anne. They were always praying to God to give them a child. They promised God if He give them a child they will offer him to serve the Lord in the Temple.
One day, an angel appeared to Anne and said to her “I have been sent from the Lord to give good news, you will give birth to a baby girl. You will name her Mary and she will be a great joy for all the people forever. She praised the Lord and told her husband and her neighbors about all that the angel told her.
Anne became pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful girl. Joachim and his wife Anne named the baby girl, Mary. All their neighbors were happy for them. Many people brought presents for the baby.
When Mary was three years old her parent offered her God, to live in the Temple. While Mary was in the Temple, her parents died. A few years later Mary was old enough to leave the Temple. The priests wanted to give her to a relative to take care of her. God chose Joseph to take care of Mary. Joseph got engaged to Mary and he took her home until the marriage.
At Joseph’s house, an angel appeared to Mary and told her that she will be pregnant and will give birth to a baby boy and will name Him Jesus. He also told her that her cousin, Elizabeth will have a baby very soon. St. Mary went to her cousin’s house quickly to serve her until she gave birth to her baby.
A few months later, St. Mary and St. Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem. Her time came to give deliver her baby. St. Joseph could not find a place for her. They had to spend the night in a manger with the animals. There she give birth to her beautiful son and named Him, Jesus.
